Grand Worthy Advisor 2011 - 2012

Greetings from all of Connecticut Rainbow, as well as Ellie’s Adventurettes (Grand Officers) and the Wilderness Explorers (Grand Representatives). This year Connecticut Rainbow is on a great adventure! With our guides Carl and Russell from the Disney/Pixar movie Up! I would like to welcome you to our website. My quote for this year is, “Don’t count the days, make the days count”. I would like to encourage each and every one of you who visits this site, to live your life in the “Spirit of Adventure”.

Our mascot for this year is Kevin, the bird from Up. Our colors are the colors of a snipe and they include blue, green, red, yellow, indigo, orange, and purple. I would like to focus part of this year on traveling, because I believe that those are the best times that I have ever had in my years in Rainbow. We will be having a traveling Pot of Gold - each assembly who receives the traveling Pot of Gold must give it to another assembly within 30 days.

Together we will be raising money for The Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation. The Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation is an organization that trains guide dogs for people who are blind. Fidelco trains all the dogs themselves and they help people become more independent than they ever dreamed they could be. For more information please visit www.fidelco.org

I am very excited about the upcoming year and can’t wait to see everyone in my travels. Please keep me informed of your assembly’s upcoming events. I am happy to visit if my schedule allows for it. The year ahead will be busy, but I promise there is plenty of fun planned. Thank you for your support and all the adventures yet to come!

Bottle Cap Program Throughout the year, each Rainbow Girl will have the opportunity to collect bottlecaps - each bottlecap has a picture of a balloon, in a different Rainbow color. Darcy, our GWA, will announce throughout the year, what girls need to do to earn a bottlecap. The first bottlecap (a red balloon) was given to those girls who attended the first visitation. The orange balloon bottlecap was given to those who attend Grand Chapter, OES. Yellow bottlecaps are given to those girls who send a message to Darcy on the Supreme website - you must have your password - ask your MA or Mom Needham if you don't have your password. Make sure you listen for the announcement of when the next balloon bottlecap will be handed out. The goal is for each girl to get all the colors of bottlecaps, and we will have opportunities to get each color, even if you miss it the first time around. And by popular request, advisors can purchase a bottlecap for $1.00 when they are handed out to the girls. We hope all of you have fun collecting your balloon bottlecaps!
