Past Grand Worthy Advisor 2008 - 2009
Hello from all of Connecticut Rainbow as well as the 2008-2009 Elephant Trackers and Statewide Scouts! This year Connecticut Rainbow is on a Sunshine Safari. We will be traveling around the world with themed visitations stopping in Africa, Hawaii, Europe, Antarctica, and Asia, and then returning to CT’s Own Sunshine Safari. With our symbol as the sun, we are searching for our Grand Mascot, the elephant. As the sun rises and sets on our safari we are sure to see this year’s colors: Sunshine Yellow, Sunset Orange, and Dusk Red. Our flower is the sunflower and our quote for the year is “Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air…” as said by Ralph Waldo Emerson. We will be raising money and collecting items for this year’s charity Camp Sunshine. Camp Sunshine is a retreat in Casco, Maine for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. It is a place that focuses on alleviating the enormous strain that a life-threatening illness can take on a family. At Camp Sunshine, family members have a chance to rebuild their relationships as well as meet other families facing similar challenges. The week-long program is free for the families attending. For more information about Camp Sunshine, please visit their website at www.campsunshine.org . I am very excited about this year, and hope to see many of you in my travels! So put on a hat, grab a camera, and hop onboard Connecticut’s Sunshine Safari! In Rainbow Love and Service,
